What great pictures! You have a talent to be able to snap wildlife and get such great pictures. I would love hummers but I don't have a feeder right now and I'm not sure I want to commit to it at this point. I know it seems silly but one more thing I really can't add to my day right now. So for now I will enjoy yours.

G'mom you don't necessarily need feeders to attract hummers, the rt. flowers such as bee balm (monarda), butterfly bushes, cardinal flowers red honey suckle, basically red or dark tubular flowers will do. Red buckeye trees have flowers that they love also. That's our next purchase as soon as we can find a buckeye!

waitin on hummers!

No hummers yet, but this year I have a swallow that built a nest right on our porch above our outdoor light. So everytime we come in an out the birdie dives off the porch. They are cute also.

I haven't got a feeder this year. Mine fell and broke due to high winds last year. Haven't been able to replace it yet.

But I ADORE hummers! Had several in my yard last year!

Great pics. I took some pictures a while back but I can't find them now. If I run across them, I'll share them with you all!!

What a great picture!!! That little guy is soooo cute! Would love to have him visit my garden every day. Mandy, thanks for the reminder - I do know plants will attract them also but with me just starting all new beds, etc. at this house I don't have too much to attract them. I have always had butterfly bushes (and have them now) but they have never attracted them for me. My next door neighbor does have some feeders hanging so perhaps I can enjoy theirs if they get any.

We actually started what I call our butterfly/humming bird garden 4 yrs. ago and what I've seen is that the hummers do like the things we have growing but the also seem to like the tall forsythia bushes that grow a short distance away, they seem to be their hiding spot.

Thanks everyone......
Cant see guys....photo.

This is first time I put up a feeder..$3.00 at walmart. And sugar water is all I use....I had a shepards hook from flowers and used that.. Put it close to a window and your can see lots............

DOnt need a pricey feeder .....Yes I have lots of hummer flowers. But the same 4 hummers come each day????? Beats me.

Hi
These guys were out the last time I went Trout Fishing on the Bras d'Or Lakes near the house.
I have over 1000 wild life shots taken here in Cape Breton.
Take care
