Are they in the ground or pots? In shade or sun? I know a lady with tons of hostas. She has some getting burnt because she lost some shade. She is going to transplant them when able.

They are all in the ground. I have a couple of larger ones that aren't turning yellow...Sum and Substance and a Blue Angel. They are all pretty much in total shade except for 6-7 that are in a couple hours of afternoon sun.

Yes, it helped. I am going to just cut the yellow leaves off for right now and keep my fingers crossed.

yellow hosta leaves

thanks, Susan-I actually googled "yellow hosta leaves" and arrived at this site! I recently bought one from the garden center for the entrance to my apt and brought it inside because of a cold snap. Clearly I need to leave it outside and NOT water it as much :-)

too much water

if i do water mine then it would just be maybe a couple times during the summer in dry spells otherwise i just let them do what they do and i don't think i could kill the little suckers if i tried. i end up splitting them almost every year.

Once they are done for the season ....They all brown.
Cut to the ground if they annoy you ......Those roots will be there come spring ..
Fear not.................
