Yah they put Pesticides in the soil.....
You have to get a license to do it with......The farmers know how to handle the soil. Our organic cows eat the grass with pesticides too.

I do also. But I admit 99% of the time I forget to wear them or
don't have any available other than the type I use for dishes.

Food service gloves is another option.

Surgical gloves or food service gloves are very inexpensive.
I purchase them at the dollar store for about $3.00. The last me a long time. I often use plastic bags to mix my dirt.

I need to look at the local dollar store for some gloves. I bought one of those gardeners aprons from the 99 cent only store. Actually there's where I buy a lot of my garden things, they even have nice pots and trellises. I always have to check what plants they have too. Last week they were selling pansies. Sorry to get off topic

I personally always where gloves. On occasion I have forgotten.

Not only for what may or may not be in the soil.

Many years ago, I worked part time in a nursery on weekends. The woman that I worked for always wanted me to wear gloves. Many of the wholesale nurseries which the retail nurseries purchase from everywhere do use pesticides to control pests.
They cannot or do not take the time to treat as a home gardener does. It would be too costly to administer as we do and they cannot afford to lose a crop.

She said it was better to be safe and not get anything on your hand, as you do not know what has been applied previously to receiving orders.

This is not hearsay, it is a fact.

On the note of what gloves I prefer. I like the Atlas 370 Nitrile Gloves for outside work. I use the Nitrile Surgical gloves, but not for heavy gardening. They do not stand up.

I was fortunate to get in on a Group Buy of the Atlas Nitrile Gloves last this spring on another site which I belong. They worked out to be only $3.00/pair shipping included. An unbelieveable price.
