need ideas!!!!!!!

Does anyone have ideas for a really cool archway or homeade teepee type thing to make out of leftover wood, metal wire? I wanna make a lg. something to show off all my morning glories I'm gonna plant this year and I want to keep them in there own space? I have some small trellis already but this I want to be something special? Lets get those ideas going!

Take left over stakes, you need at least 3, more would be better, make them into the typical tepee stance or cone shape and wire the top together as tightly as possible. Drive the stakes into the ground and wrap with wire, chicken wiore is the best as it is malable and easy to bend to shape. Take wire and secure to frame up and down the stakes all around. Plant your vineing plants around the outside and train around the shape.
If you want you can cut out a little door and place a lawn ornament like a bunny or even a Gnome, a Fariy would even be cute and you could make a Fairy garden.

MR thats a winner right there!!!!!!I went to the thrift store last week looking for something for my clematis to run up not knowing what & suddenly looked in the furniture section & found 2 springs from the old type baby cribs for 5.99 each so got them & stacked em on top of each other made a perfect trellis. so keep u'r eyes open ya never know what will appear.

Another good one is a super large tomato cage turned upside down, with the ring against the ground. You can then put lawn pins over the ring to secure into the ground and then plant around the base. You can tie the lose wire up with more wire or find a finial with a hole to put over the wire tips. It will give the cages a old world look of the Garden obelisk when it is covered in vines.

I worked with a gal who told me she had used the frame of her kids swing set as a trellis. She said the kids liked to hide out in there. I never saw it but it sounded like a good idea.

A gal I knew in HI used an umbrella frame to make a bougainvillea canopy. It was one of those extra large ones that fit thru the middle of a picnic table. She had put it in a good size cement planter so it was tall enough to stand under. She put chicken wire over the frame and trained the plant to cover the entire thing. Eventually she had to put more uprights around the edges as bougainvillea gets large and heavy in the tropics. It was lovely and so nice to sit under.

Sounds like you are looking for an obelisk. There are a bunch of free plans online to make them out of wood - some really ornate, some not so much. I have been doing some research on this, too, for this wild rose thing I have that seems to crawl everywhere.

I also found some great archway arbor plans for free online as well - if you google them, I'm sure you'll find them too. Some even have seating benches inside the arbor archway so you can surround yourself with your morning glories while you read the paper and have a cup of coffee.
