flow through worm bins(worm castings)

I have been useing worm castings as fertilizer for a few years(good stuf)
You will need to look up some information on flow through worm bins at garden web, look for flow through worm bins and do a little studying.
Cost of building a flow through worm bin to grow your own castings, will be a 55 gallon plastic barrel and what ever you make the bottom grate out of and labor to do the work of making the bin.
Each 55 gallon barrel will hold about 6 to 10 lbs of worms when filled. You can start with a few compost worms just takes longer to get started
You can recycle your food waste to the worms and get castings for your plants.
Dr.Clive Edwards worked with the first flow through worm bins (the basic flow through bins are free to all to use)
I will add more information as i go.
Basic for now (google or dogpile flow through worm bins to get how to information from education sites.

I don't 'do worms' that long yet. I am using a sweater box, feed them grated potatoes and cornmeal, cover them with leaves and moist, shredded newspaper.
To get the castings, I just scoop it with my hands, picking the wormies out....
