Pond Stories-Updated with photos

Mr. Froggy went a courtin'

I know many of you with mature ponds have frogs as regular visitors, but my pond is only about 3 months old. Last night I went out to my greenhouse and kept hearing what at first I thought was a tree frog. I'm slow, but finally I realized it was a bull frog. As I walked near my pond it was clear that he was there in the pond. At that point I really felt like my pond was a success--dragon flies, frogs, birds have all been there already. Just thought I'd share my joy with you.

Please add your own pond wildlife stories.

No fish (no place to put them in winter) but 1 frog, although I haven't seen him but hear him every night right there in or just on the outside of the pond.

Pretty picts. Do the frogs ever bug U at night? I use to live by a pond and we had frogs singing all night long. They were so loud that I couldn't sleep. I began to lose my mind, and would find myself outside, screaming at them to shut up. We didn't have too many birdies though.

We have a pond below the house like 50 ft away the sing here all the time.
Neighbors love to hear them sing.

No complains of that here. They are loud.

The bull frog is quite vocal. Fortunately my bedroom is on the opposite side of the house and unless I go outside I don't hear him. However, I have problems sleeping many nights and go out just to listen to him. I grew up in the country near a creek, and frogs were part of our somewhat noisy night sounds. This is sort of like being back in my world after so many years away.

AngryOverrun with Frogs

We have a pond about 50 feet away & hear frogs quite often. We love the frogs out here in the country. We decided to get the kids a large inflatable pool to help stay cool this summer & now we can't keep the frogs out of it. I'll clean the green slime out, (after saving the eggs of course) bleach it & fill it up, wake up the next morning & there are hundreds of frog eggs. It's so bad the kids can't even get in to swim. I don't know what to do except maybe buy a tarp to go over it. I would welcome any ideas.
