ExclamationNEED ADVICE-Pruning a Mother of Thousand Cactus-

I have an 8 ft tall plant with several flowering stems that I have in a large planter outside. I'd like to know if I can cut this plant back by cutting mid way down which will cut the flowers off. If so can the stalk be replanted w the flowers or should I just start a new plant w the seeds. It's way to tall and has 3 separate stalks that I have to secure w a pole due to wind.
