Huge flower buds on my cactus now

Here's that cactus I got from my neighbors yard waste on the side of the road a while ago. There are big flower buds growing on it now. I'll have to keep an eye on it because I think it only blooms at night. Pretty cool though! image.jpg

Thanks everyone, I was starting to get a little worried that it wasnt rooting because I wasn't seeing any signs of new growth. But then I noticed the little buds pushing out. So it was using all it's energy towards flowering. It is cool to find roadside treasures. Recently I acquired cuttings of a huge night blooming epiphyllum that had been up in a tree for over twenty years because i remember seeing it as a child. It was huge, prob five feet across and the owner chopped it down to redo the landscaping.

Jackie, Read up on how to pollinate the flowers. Let one of those buds go to seed. You'll have something pretty fun to trade, or you could plant them all. lol

I'll def post a pic. I'm on night watch. Lol. That's a good idea about the seeds. I was wondering if I should keep the seeds from the fruits.

How exciting! Being cut may have put it in a survival mode & flowering will put out seeds or pups. Plants are so intriguing. Can't wait to see what color it is. Let us know, Trudy

Oh my gosh! I think tonight is the night! :)

It's going to have big white blooms. They look so heavy that it's making the cactus tip over a little
