Cactus rescue! Found on side of the road today.

My neighbors down the street had a big pile of yard waste today and I did a double take when I saw they chopped down their huge cactus. I ran over, waved, and grabbed a piece. I think it's a Cereus Hildmannianus?...lt was a cool find today.

I'm drooling over here. Go back and get more. I would gladly pay you postage or a trade for a chunk of that.

Congrats! What a fabulous curbside find!!

I cannot help scanning the sides of the road in my neighborhood for clippings
it's a thrill to find a treasure in a pile of someone else's chopped off over-growth.

I went to Florida a few years ago to see my mother. It just so happened that her neighbor trimmed his spineless prickly pear. He tossed a bunch of pads.....I snatched them up. I packed a few and flew them home. lol
In fact, I'm sending you one this week.

Awesome!!! Glad to hear I'm not the only trash picker, too!!!!!! LOL I love to go through "trash" piles, thrift stores, garage sales . . . and I buy clearance plants all the time to nurse back to health. Only have a death once in a while . . . then I feel like I failed :-( but usually there was nothing more I could do. You should see my tea rose I got from a grocery store for .99 cents! Black spot loves it, but it blooms like crazy!

seeing how happy you are I wish you're closer so I could give you all my cactuses, running out of winter storage.

Cool cactus Saba! I do hope mine roots ok. I have experience rooting ones much smaller so we will see...I'm trying to build inventory for a nice cactus garden in my front yard.

Sherie it was funny we were cruising down the road and hubby said look at that cactus...I made him stop, grabbed it and threw it back...on the positive side it's a cactus you can't kill lol
