You're right, RiverRock. Plenty of time for blooming and fruiting once it's rooted. I'm definitely cutting the buds off in the morning and getting it in some vermiculite. I just think it's pretty amazing!

Yes its wonderful to see blooms..the amount of buds on this tells me it came from a nice healthy plant also. Best of blessings with this cutting, I hope it brings lots of future blooms and fruits to bring a smile to your heart.

Hey enjoy the spirit and beauty of the now. Prop it up in dry pebbles for a week to allow scaring, then remove buds and dip in rooting hormone before planting Bobby Z

Thanks for the great advice BobbyZ! It was actually pretty well calloused by the time those blooms started opening, so after that last pic I removed the buds and got it planted. I found another bud popping out a few days ago, but took that off too. I sure enjoyed the show it gave me while it was healing up though - it was enough to keep me content until it gets rooted.

Just great Pinkham - that was the craziest thing! I rooted it in a pot and it kept trying to bloom the whole time, lol. Once it started sending out some new growth (about a month ago), I gave it to a friend who has wanted one for her yard for a long time. She said it's growing really well. . I decided not to put it out in my yard since I still have little ones who play outside all the time and those spines were super sharp!

Nice. I'm glad it rooted
If you ever come across another chunk of fabulousness like that again, keep me in mind.
